About Us

Southport Contemporary Arts (SCA) network, embraces the fact that Southport is home to a surprising number of professional, graduate and community based art practitioners working in various disciplines. The list of creative skills within the group is wide-ranging, and includes painters, textile artists, filmmakers, photographers, printmakers, sculptors, jewellers, musicians, poets and performance-based artists.

In 2012 SCA opened The ArtHouse on Eastbank St. in Southport: a venture to move the organisation forward in order to provide a regular showcase of works via frequent exhibitions in the town and opportunities for the community to engage in workshops and performance-based events. The establishment of a permanent space for the organisation has been invaluable for local artists and the provision of an exhibition space, workshop space and studios is designed to enable and facilitate Southport’s creative communities.

Calls of interest are welcomed. If you are you an artist/designer/maker/performer wanting to join the network and would like to exhibit and gain mutual support, or are a person wanting to join in with creative workshops, please get in touch.

SCA are particularly interested in hearing from local businesses that may be able to offer space for exhibitions and PR events.
